About us: The Department of Biostatistics, Bioinformatics and Biomathematics is an academic department within Georgetown University Medical Center. The department is active in statistical and bioinformatics methodology and team science research. It offers a Masters of Science program in Biostatistics, and provides consulting expertise to the Georgetown community with respect to the design and data analysis of clinical trials, basic science, and population science research projects. The department has 11 faculty members, 3 staff biostatisticians, 15 research assistants and a strong administrative staff. The department also serves as an essential component of the Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, whose Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Shared Resource is housed in the Department. The Cancer Center research programs cover the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of cancer through innovative basic and clinical research, patient care, and community education and outreach.
